Women’s Funding Alliance Event
Good people doing good work = great clients
We love working with good people who are doing good work in our community—so when Women’s Funding Alliance needed promotional materials for a major fundraising event, Chalkbox was happy to help. Founded in 1983, WFA is dedicated to increasing the leadership and economic opportunities available to women and girls in Washington.
AMPLIFY, an annual luncheon event with inspirational guest speakers, is one of the ways Women’s Funding Alliance raises money for its important mission. For the 2018 event, WFA wanted materials that looked professional and refined, while also adhering to newly developed brand guidelines.
Diving into the brand
First, we had to gain a firm understanding of WFA’s brand identity. The new identity for Women’s Funding Alliance is bright, appealing, and very well-documented—which made our process much easier.
We also worked to learn more about the target audience for AMPLIFY, along with the different organizations and causes that receive support from WFA. Our goal was to push the bright, bold aspect as much as possible for the event materials, creating memorable pieces that both attracted attention and enhanced the message Women’s Funding Alliance was presenting to attendees and prospective donors.
A look that feels empowering
A design concept was needed very quickly, as digital “save the date” cards for the event had to go out ASAP. (We can work on tight deadlines, but the client has to be responsive—and WFA was an excellent collaborative partner.)
Once that first piece was complete, we applied the concept to other components of the event materials: An event program, donor card, table numbers, PowerPoint template, and other digital assets for various uses.
Our designs leaned heavily on bold typography, bright colors and strong images, all of which reflect and complement WFA’s mission of empowerment.
The AMPLIFY event was a success—another step in the amazing growth of Women’s Funding Alliance. What started as a small group of women 30 years ago is now an organization that invests more than $1 million in women and girls annually and has over 6,000 supporters.
