About Us
We could walk you through our process step by step...
In fact, that’s exactly what our old website did. If you’re like most of our clients, though, you probably don’t need (or want) that much detail; you just want to know your project is in good hands.
Here’s what you can count on when you work with Chalkbox:
A process that has been proven over 19 years.
Good branding doesn’t magically happen: Getting it right requires learning about your goals, your audience, and what makes your business distinct. We’ll take the time to do just that, working closely with you to build something lasting that will move your business forward to a successful future.

Collaboration and communication.
Your expertise and feedback is vital to the success of your project—from the first sketch to the finished product, and every iteration in between. That’s why the Chalkbox approach is designed to keep you fully involved, providing you with updates, getting your thoughts on concepts, and incorporating that input into our work.

Meet the team

Josh Huisenga
Josh Huisenga has been drawing for longer than he can remember, and to this day he finds great satisfaction in things made well—a personality trait that helps drive the continued success of Chalkbox. Josh came to Seattle in 1998 after earning a degree in graphic design at Montana State University. Following a brief stint working prepress and production, he spent five years in brand design with Amazon, then left to launch Chalkbox in 2004.

Adam Taylor
Adam Taylor is a multi-disciplinary designer, illustrator, and educator with more than a decade of professional experience in Utah, Michigan, and now, Seattle. An artist with works featured in several exhibitions, he joined Chalkbox in October 2016; earlier that year, Adam earned a Master of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in graphic design from Michigan State University. He specializes in brand development, UI/UX, illustration, and environmental design.

Luke Harper
Luke Harper moved to the Seattle area from Nevada when he was 8 years old in 1985. He is the youngest of five siblings and he was raised by journalists, artists, and builders. Being at the bottom of this food chain, Luke learned the value in listening, planning, creating, communicating, and strategizing. These skills still help him to this day with managing projects or just navigating a family Thanksgiving. After 25 years in the printing industry, Luke joined Chalkbox in November 2020 as a project manager.
A resource you can rely on for years.
Businesses and organizations change and grow—in fact, that might be why you’re here right now. And when we say, “Let’s design your future,” that also means, “We are invested in your future.” Our goal is to create lifetime clients—you can call on us for support as you roll out your brand, continue to build upon it, and adjust as it evolves down the road.
